Terms of Service
Last updated: March 9, 2026
Welcome to Kairos. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.
1. What Kairos Is
Kairos is a personal knowledge companion. It lets you save thoughts, quotes, notes, links, reflections, and content from external sources — then have AI-powered conversations that draw on everything you've saved. Kairos finds connections between your ideas, surfaces patterns in your thinking, and helps you revisit what matters.
2. Your Account
You must create an account with a valid email address and password to use Kairos. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to use the service.
If you suspect unauthorized access to your account, please contact us immediately at info@usekairos.io.
3. Your Content
You retain full ownership of everything you save to Kairos — your notes, quotes, reflections, imported content, and conversations. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
By using Kairos, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content back to you. This includes generating vector embeddings for semantic search, clustering related memories, and sending your content to AI services to produce responses. This license exists solely to operate the service for you and terminates when you delete your content or your account.
4. Imported Content
Kairos allows you to import content from external sources, including:
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to import and store this content for personal use. Kairos extracts and stores the text content locally in your account — we do not republish, redistribute, or make imported content available to other users.
5. AI-Generated Responses
Kairos uses artificial intelligence to generate conversational responses based on your messages and relevant memories. While we strive for helpful and thoughtful responses, AI output may sometimes be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate.
AI responses should not be treated as professional advice — whether medical, legal, financial, or otherwise. Kairos is a tool for personal reflection and knowledge management, not a substitute for professional guidance.
6. Subscriptions & Billing
Kairos offers a free tier and paid plans, currently Pro and Max. The free tier includes daily limits on messages and memories, a cap on total stored memories, and no video upload. Paid plans increase those limits and may include additional storage and upload allowances.
Paid subscriptions may be offered through third-party billing providers such as mobile app stores or an authorized web checkout when available. By subscribing, you agree to the applicable billing provider terms. Recurring subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the end of the current billing period.
Refunds, billing changes, and cancellation timing are handled by the payment provider used for the purchase. We do not directly control third-party refund decisions.
7. Usage Limits & Fair Use
To ensure a quality experience for all users, Kairos enforces usage limits:
These limits may change as the service evolves. We will notify users of any significant changes.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Kairos to:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time from the Settings page in the app. Upon deletion, your account will be marked for removal and all associated data — including memories, conversations, embeddings, push tokens, and account information — will be permanently deleted from our servers and third-party services within 30 days.
We may also terminate your account if you violate these Terms of Service, after providing reasonable notice when possible.
10. Service Availability
We aim to keep Kairos available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. The app may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruptions.
11. Limitation of Liability
Kairos is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or reliance on AI-generated content.
Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $50, whichever is greater.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. Your continued use of Kairos after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree with the updated terms, you should stop using the service and delete your account.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of Kairos will be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If a resolution cannot be reached, disputes will be submitted to binding arbitration.
